Badawi Inaugurates TAQA’s New Egyptian Facility

The Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi has inagurated an integrated operations center for  TAQA, an international company focused on Energy solutions, in Egypt. This center serves as a major hub for managing the company’s activities in Egypt and is also considered a launching point for its operations in Africa, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources on Tuesday. Through this project, TAQA is capitalizing on Egypt’s promising opportunities, logistical advantages, advanced infrastructure, and distinguished geographical location”, noted the statement.

Badawi welcomed the presence of TAQA in the Egyptian energy sector, noting that the establishment of the operations center reflects its serious commitment to working and investing in Egypt.

He pointed out that the strategy of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, built on six key pillars, offers substantial opportunities for collaboration with TAQA . These include boosting production through cutting-edge technological solutions, advancing the mining sector with modern innovations, driving renewable energy projects, reducing emissions, enhancing safety and energy efficiency systems.“TAQA is a key enabler for Egypt to step into the future of green energy, whether we are talking about hydrogen, green hydrogen, green ammonia and beyond,” Badawi said.

Khalid Nouh , CEO of TAQA, highlighted that the new facility represents a model of successful partnership with Egypt and a major achievement in the company’s journey, adding that the new center is a testament to the company’s commitment to working and investing in Egypt and supporting all the needs of the energy industry.

“TAQA’s new Facility in Egypt is more than just a maintenance facility; it is a testimony to TAQA’s shareholders’ commitment to further invest in Egypt, demonstrating our ambition to be a major player in the promising future of the Egyptian energy sector,” Nouh explained.

The CEO emphasized that Egypt is at the forefront of the company’s efforts to develop carbon emission reduction solutions. He also praised Egypt’s clear vision for diversifying energy sources, expressing his company’s pride in partnering with the Egyptian side and participating in pumping investments, providing job opportunities, and providing innovative technological solutions that contribute to achieving the goals of the energy industry in Egypt.

The Minister and the attendees were also briefed on the new center’s capabilities, which include providing technological solutions for the energy industry, conducting design work, maintaining advanced equipment, and offering specialized training programs.

In 2023, TAQA acquired Al Mansouri Petroleum Services Company, leveraging the capabilities of 27 Egyptian companies to provide comprehensive well services offered by “TAQA” including drilling, production, exploration, and other services, to serve the petroleum sector in Egypt.
